At SHP, our highest intention is to capture the essence of who you are in a fragrance.
Each custom experience is shaped by Sarah’s decades of working intimately with clients—exploring memories, preferences, and personal connections, and translating them into scent. Your fragrance is created specifically for you, with our perfumer guiding the process as both translator and artist to bring your vision to life.
Once your formula is approved, it is kept on file for future orders and can be purchased in a variety of formats. Each bespoke fragrance is handcrafted to order and may take up to 5 business days to ship.

For those looking to create something truly their own, our Online Fragrance Journey offers a guided, personalized experience—wherever you are.
Each formula is entirely original—never pre-blended or duplicated—and thoughtfully composed by a trained perfumer based on your responses. While we don’t replicate existing fragrances on the market, we’re happy to use them as inspiration in shaping your custom scent.
Begin by completing our questionnaire, designed to give your perfumer insight into your preferences, inspiration, and the way you want your fragrance to feel. From your responses, your assigned perfumer will create three original Eau de Parfum formulas, crafted exclusively for you and sent for you to experience at home.
After testing each scent, you’ll receive an email from your perfumer, where you can select your favorite to be produced as a 1 oz Eau de Parfum. If you’d like to refine your fragrance, we offer one complimentary revision. An additional revision is available for $75 plus shipping. To begin a revision, simply email perfume@sarahhorowitz.com to schedule a call and share your feedback.
Once finalized, your formula is kept on file for future orders and can be recreated in a variety of formats. Reorders can be placed anytime through our website using your fragrance name in the notes section.

Prepare to embark on a journey unlike any other. During this 1 1/2 hour-long meeting with Perfumer Sarah Horowitz-Thran, you will not only learn about the history of scent and the science of our olfactory sense, but also reaffirm who you are and what you love. And the end result? A custom, handcrafted fragrance that reflects your memories, emotions, and desires. Recognizing that our favorite scents most often mirror our life experiences and tastes, Sarah developed this process to provide her clients with the opportunity to create a fragrance that distills their essence into a perfume. Guided by the information you share with her and her finely-honed intuition, Sarah will first present you with a selection of notes from her library of over 300 fragrance and essential oils. You will then begin the fascinating, two-tiered process of narrowing down the selection in order to determine which notes truly light your fire -- the only ingredients that are worthy of your personal blend.
Please note that you should not wear any fragrance or even scented products on the day of your appointment. As your own body chemistry will serve as the final ingredient in your blend each and every time your wear it, Sarah will need to evaluate the scent of your skin before determining the unique proportions of each ingredient in your formula. This experience is offered exclusively in our private studio. The price is $1000, and includes a 1.7 Bespoke Bottle in your custom fragrance. During your 60-90 minute session, you’ll work with a curated selection of over 100 premium fragrances and essential oils to develop a scent that is uniquely yours. Your session includes a 1 oz.
